Bride of the Atlantic Surfing Festival 2012, Playa Puntilla, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
The 4th annual “Bride of the Atlantic Surfing Festival” will be held Sunday, March 11, 2012, 7:00am-4:00pm, at Playa Puntilla in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Organized by the Dominican Surfing Federation (FEDOSURF), the event is sponsored in part by the Association of Surfing of Puerto Plata (ASPP), and the Cluster Turistico del Destino Puerto Plata. Puerto Plata is the famed Atlantic city of the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, and the event will be held along the Malecon, in front of historic Fort San Felipe (est.1502). This championship event is part of the 2012 National Surf Circuit and FEDOSURF welcomes all to participate.
Divisions for the competition include Open Surfing, Bodyboarding and Longboarding, and the event will feature music, awards and prize money, and a good wave forecast promising peak event conditions. To register in advance online, visit http://www.fedosurf.org
FEDOSURF, established in 2002, is the National Governing Body of surfing in the Dominican Republic. FEDOSURF is recognized by the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), the Ministry of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (MIDEREC), the International Surfing Association (ISA) and the Pan American Surfing Association (PASA). It is a non-profit entity, whose main goal is to support and advance the sport of surfing and high-performance athletes in the Dominican Republic.
